Collections

What you see on exhibit at the Museum of the Gulf Coast is only the tip of the iceberg! The Museum has more than 35,000 items, many which are rarely on display. The Museum collects photographs, documents, and physical objects representing the biology and history of the Gulf Coast region ranging from prehistoric times to the present. Photographs and other archival materials are available for reproduction. If you would like to access or reproduce items held by the Museum, please contact the Curator.

Some photographs are available on The Portal to Texas History. The Museum also posts historical photos from its collection every Thursday on Facebook. Please like and share! Fees may apply to certain requests. We can waive or discount fees when items are requested by schools or other non-profit institutions.
